The trend for travellers to book last minute is now the norm and has been for at least 5 years and many traditional agencies are at a loss of how to maximise the potential of last minute bookings.  Listing sites offer the perfect place to maximise the exposure of your property and take those extra bookings.

Here are some simple yet effective ideas to make the most of the last minute market....

  • Offering a discount for previous guests is a nice way of letting them know you value their custom, and who doesn’t like to be appreciated?
  • October tends to be the month when beaches lift their dog restrictions so again this is a great way to encourage bookings to pet friendly properties.
  • Create a foodie weekend break, get your local deli on board and put together a hamper full of local produce and why not see if a local restaurant or pub will offer a special discount to your guests. You could even offer a tour of a local vineyard or cider farm, which would be a fun way for your guests to spend an afternoon.
  • Offer a sporting weekend, make the most of concerts or maybe you have a great local golf course, riding stables, mountain bike trail or great walks. Create a fun itinerary for your guests, a round of golf followed by lunch or an afternoon ride along a beach followed by hot chocolate and cake.
